Couch to 5K

I have never been a runner, and after graduating high school and leaving softball, volleyball, and gym class behind, I haven’t been very active.  I started with baby steps (literally) walking on the treadmill as often as I could for as long as I could.  Then I started briskly walking on the treadmill.  I thought it was time to step it up a notch and that’s where C25K came into the picture.

I began the Couch to 5K program in the beginning of November, 2011.  I am going at a snail’s pace, but I am completing the workouts.  In the larger picture my goal with this program is just to be, in general, more active.

Why Keep Track?

I decided I’d like to keep track of my running times and distance to hold myself accountable, in a way.  Also to see the numbers all in one place is a really reassuring that what I’m doing is working, my 5K times are getting better, my food choices are changing, my weight is going down.  I’m slowly but surely turning into a healthier person.  One run at a time!
